Full mouth rehabilitation
Full mouth rehabilitation rebuilds the teeth of both jaws together, usually with a mix of crowns, root canals, implants and bite correction, planned as one sequence so the bite works as a whole.

More than many single treatments
When a mouth has many problems at once, worn teeth, failing crowns, gaps and a bite that has sunk, fixing them one tooth at a time rarely works. Each new crown is built to fit a bite that is itself the problem. Full mouth rehabilitation steps back and plans both jaws together: how high the teeth should be, how they should meet, and in what order to rebuild them.
Why the bite comes first
Teeth that are worn or missing let the jaws close further than they should. The front teeth then take loads they were not made for, the face can look shorter, and the jaw muscles work differently. Part of the plan is deciding the right height and shape for the new teeth, and testing it in temporary form before anything permanent is made.
The pieces it may use
Depending on what each tooth needs: crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, implants or a full-arch bridge where teeth are missing, and sometimes straightening first. The plan sets out which, where and when.
It may suit you if
- Many teeth are broken, heavily filled or worn down, often from grinding or acid
- Several teeth are missing in both jaws
- The bite has collapsed, so the face looks shorter and the front teeth take too much load
- Old crowns and bridges are failing in several places at once
- Jaw discomfort seems linked to the way the teeth meet
Suitability is confirmed at your examination, never from a web page.
If you would rather wait
A large plan does not have to happen at once. Pain and infection are treated first; the rest can be staged as time and budget allow, in an order that keeps your bite stable between stages. Waiting with worn or failing teeth usually means more work later, but a staged start is a real option.
Step by step
What happens at each stage, and roughly how long it takes. Your own timings are set out in your written plan.
Step 1: A full assessment
An examination of every tooth and the gums, a 3D CBCT scan taken in-house, photographs, and records of how your jaws close and move.
Step 2: Health first
Pain, infection, decay and gum disease are treated before anything is rebuilt, because nothing lasts on unstable foundations.
Step 3: Testing the new bite
The planned shape and height of the teeth are tried in temporary form, and worn for some weeks so you and we can check comfort, speech and appearance.
This is the stage where changes are easy. Tell us anything that feels wrong.
Step 4: Rebuilding in stages
Crowns, bridges and implants replace the temporaries, usually one section of the mouth at a time.
Step 5: Protecting the result
A night guard if you grind, and regular reviews and cleaning, keep the new teeth and the bite stable.

Risks and recovery
Every treatment carries some risk. These are the ones to know about, and what is normal while you heal.
- Treatment is long, and asks for commitment through every stage.
- Teeth that are prepared for crowns can become sensitive, and occasionally need root canal treatment later.
- It takes time to adjust to a new bite. The trial stage exists to find problems before the final work is made.
- A rebuilt mouth needs maintenance. Crowns and bridges can chip or loosen over the years, especially with grinding.

Questions people ask
Not here? Ask us directly. We reply during clinic hours, till 9 pm.
Ask on WhatsAppHow long does it take?
Usually several months from the first assessment to the final teeth, longer when implants need healing time. Your plan gives the timeline stage by stage.
Do I have to do everything at once?
No. The plan is staged so you can pause between sections, provided urgent problems are dealt with first and the bite stays stable.
Will I be without teeth at any point?
The plan is built so you are not. Temporary teeth cover every stage where a tooth is removed or prepared.
How is the cost given?
As a range for each stage, in writing, before that stage starts. If something changes during treatment, such as a tooth that cannot be saved, it is explained before anything extra is done.

Full-arch implants
Full-arch implants replace every tooth in a jaw with a bridge held by four to six implants. This page sets out the choices, how many implants, which materials, fixed or removable, and when the teeth go in.
Crowns and bridges
A crown is a cap that covers and protects a weakened tooth. A bridge replaces one or two missing teeth by fixing a false tooth to the teeth on either side of the gap.
Smile makeover
A smile makeover brings several treatments, such as whitening, aligners, veneers, crowns or implants, into one plan, in an order where each step sets up the next.
